how do I

become good friends with Lupita Nyong’o so that, after a good amount of time of hanging out, drinking wine, talking about books and movies and art and stuff, she’s like, “OMG, LIZZ, you have to take home this big bag of stuff designers keep sending me because I can only be seen wearing it once, and I’m sure you have tons of places to wear it” ?

beautiful weirdo Paley Fairman to shoot SXSW like it’s a dark expose of the seedy underbelly of joy.

Salad for President

Saturday, February 8th, 2014

Our good friend Julia Sherman’s blog, Salad for President, is beautifully shot, delightfully curated and written in her voice, so it’s charming, funny, totally quick and friendly, and in the know on all things salad and the creative people she’s tapped to make them.

One that looks incredible that’s on her site right now is this lotus root salad, from the bartender at the restaurant I miss from when I lived down the street in Bed-Stuy.

with my Tomo navy leather sac from This Is Ground.

It’s for your tech, but it’s a casual-but-still-a-bit-luxe (amazing leather) update to the rectangular clutch I’ve been carrying for years.

Jody Rogac

Friday, January 31st, 2014

I met Jody Rogac last week on the set of the movie I was working on.

She was shooting behind the scenes and taking portraits. Her work is calm but intense, striking yet casual, honest and beautiful, quiet but memorable. I really love it.

Here are some of my favorite shots of hers, and so many more are on her website.

(love love LOVE this picture of our mutual friend Nancy)

you can buy her recent book, In Between, at Alldayeveryday’s online shop.

Movie business

Monday, January 27th, 2014

I just finished up a segment of the film I’m doing the costumes for: Austin Lynch’s Grey House.

It was a really cool experience.

Austin was so calm and awesome, the star of this segment, the incredible Aurore Clement was wonderful, and I feel like I understand the “movie business” a little (teeny tiny) bit more now.

Check out this clever holiday video for Clashist’s Kickstarter…and maybe get a James franco tee or two for a crush of your own. Heather and I worked on developing the concept for this line and I’m really excited to see it moving forward!
